Now, after 2 seasons back in pro road racing, 3T is moving into the MTB space.
Our MTB range of components is aimed at pro and amateur offroad riders who demand the ultimate performance – in control, shock absorbency, and comfort, as well as strength and light weight.
It’s the first time 3T has built MTB components since the 1990s, when Nicolas Vouilloz rode 3T bars to win the World Downhill Championship.
The MTB range intersects with the Road range. Though light, our Road components exceed, by far, all safety norms. Riders were asking us if they could use them for MTB. We ran the tests, and they could.
So the popular ARX stems and DORIC seatposts cross over into our new-for-2010 MTB portfolio. They are joined by two new 'compact' MTB bars.
We describe the XIDA straight bar and the ERYX riser bar as compact because they are engineered to have much shorter center sections than conventional oversize bars.
Compact bars give riders more room to configure the bike’s cockpit. Even when the bars are cut down to an XC racer's 570 mm, there's still plenty of room for controls such as the suspension lock-out lever and new-generation lighting systems. This makes for a more spacious, comfortable cockpit for all conditions.
Both bars are available in PRO, TEAM, and LTD grades. LTD editions are built of high-modulus carbon-fiber and are among the lightest MTB bars available.
